TAVIRA ORANGE

A photo I took in Tavira, Portugal, of a sloppily painted wall covered in years-old dried paint splatters from a wild, careless job. I saw beauty in its worn look and wanted to transform it into something appealing.

In ancient Tavira, Moorish Princess Séiqua and Christian knight Gilão fell in forbidden love during the Reconquista. They met secretly on the river bridge until discovery forced them to leap into the waters—Séqua upstream, Gilão downstream. Their spirits united forever, giving the river its dual names: Séqua and Gilão. Tavira endures as their eternal legacy.

Yellow is sunlight on intention—optimism, cheer, and the mental spark that makes a day feel available. Orange is warmth in motion: enthusiasm, adventure, creativity, and the social heat of a color that wants company. Together they raise the temperature of the wall without turning it frantic.

This is the joy of living made visible. Not a warning, not a shout—an invitation to begin. Optimism, creativity, and adventure in one continuous glow.

This is sunlight in motion. Orange gathers warmth and company; yellow throws the windows open. Together they raise the temperature of the mood without turning it frantic. You feel available to the day—brighter, quicker to laugh, quicker to begin. The energy is social even when you are alone: a lift that wants to be shared, a cheerfulness that makes the next step feel obvious.
