TAVIRA RED

A photo I took in Tavira, Portugal, of a sloppily painted wall covered in years-old dried paint splatters from a wild, careless job. I saw beauty in its worn look and wanted to transform it into something appealing.

In ancient Tavira, Moorish Princess Séiqua and Christian knight Gilão fell in forbidden love during the Reconquista. They met secretly on the river bridge until discovery forced them to leap into the waters—Séqua upstream, Gilão downstream. Their spirits united forever, giving the river its dual names: Séqua and Gilão. Tavira endures as their eternal legacy.

Red is the pulse—passion, power, and unapologetic energy, the heat that makes a surface irreversible. Light blue cuts that heat into air: trust, calm intelligence, a cool distance that keeps fire from becoming noise. Green returns the contrast to the living world—balance, freshness, and a place for the excitement to land.

Together they are voltage with a horizon. Energy, passion, and power, held by clarity and growth so the intensity can stay lucid. The work does not only burn. It breathes.

Powerful, activated, alert.

This is stillness that still knows how to invent. Blue cools the noise; yellow kindles the idea. Together they make a workshop of the mind: peaceful enough to linger, bright enough to surprise. Concentration here is not clenched. It is a soft, continuous beam. Thoughts arrive without hurry, and the calm itself becomes the condition for making something new.
